How is EQMac? I had no idea that they had EQ for Mac, and i've been a Mac user since July, got a new Powerbook for graduation. 
 
A little background info on me, my name is Mike and i'm a college
student in New York, i'm also a club DJ and i have a website
(www.mikeberlyand.com)  I've played EQ pretty much all through
high school since it came out, I played on Prexus (Qamenz - Wizard) and
Tribunal (Roxxor- Gnome Rogue), With Roxxor I was in Legendary,
(www.eqlegendary.com) 
 
I had alot of fun in EQ, but then I moved on to DAOC, where I played on
Lancelot Hibernia, I had a Bard named Musica and was in KoS, the most
revered PVP guild in DAOC 
 
recently I played WoW, with KoS on Shattered Hand. I had an Undead
Rogue named Toy but I felt that WoW was missing something, so I'm
pretty excited finding EQmac since I had the most fun playing EQ. 
 
I realize that Temerity is a top guild, and I strive for the best so
ultimately I would want to join, but for now I just want to ask, how is
it playing EQmac? I realize that you have seperate servers then PC
players, and that Sony stopped patching Mac because they have no Mac
programmers.Also how is the community on Al'Kabor? and I would have to
start from scratch, and I haven't leveled in EQ since the days of Kunark, is it a lot faster leveling now? (hopefully)

Well obviously we all like it, since we're playing<img src="/forums/images/gpicons/face_happy.gif">. A bunch of us tried WoW and came back to EQ also. But you'll see more than a few debates here and on eqmac.com. Sony never really did patch us... but on the bright side that means fewer bugs than you'd find hehe. Community is fabulous. Levelling is insanely fast compared to Kunark. The good news is the game is free (check the sticky in the General forum on <a href="http://www.eqmac.com/">http://www.eqmac.com/</a>), you just need a credit card for a subscription for after the 30 days free trial is up. --

i'm just wondering that since I have to start from scratch, is it worth
it putting the time in?  i'm hearing that the server might be
closed in the near future, and that the population is decreasing

You're hearing opinions based on nothing but opinions. My opinion is that it won't be. We're cheap enough to keep up, and we've been seeing more people lately again. Might the server be shut down tomorrow? Sure. Or your computer might be stolen. Or your account hacked. Or... or.... shrug. It's a game, it's ephemeral anyways. If you think it'd be fun to play, play. Enjoy it while it lasts. Or don't. Shrug<img src="/forums/images/gpicons/face_happy.gif">. --

I say give it a shot.  The population decreased when WoW came out,
but is on the rise again.  Also with some top end guild
consolidation, Temerity is right back on pace to where it was before
WoW.  I'm sure everyone on the server would love to have some new
players start up and thre has been some activity with new players
starting lately.  Sounds like you would be the type of player that
would level pretty fast, expecially since you are not new to EQ. 
You will find that as the levels increase, there will be more people to
play with because the server is top heavy right now from going so long
with SONY not promoting the game. Hunter Brein Leifson

Just expect to solo for the first 55 levels.  There's very few
players coming in, and the population is very weighted to the upper
levels.  As for the community, it's good and bad.  There's a
lot of tools and idjits.  Probably better people on this server
than most PC servers, but there's still so few that you can't be picky. Nihilists! Fuck me. I mean, say what you like about the tenets of National Socialism, Dude, at least it's an ethos.

I been playing this game since Beta. and think it is the best online game i ever played.<img src="/forums/images/gpicons/face_happy.gif">
 
Experience now flys compared to when i was leveling up. you have NP leveling up fairly fast.
 
I really believe that if Sony wanted to shut us down they would of already. like some has said we do see new peeps starting to play. and is also seeing defectors to WOW now coming back.

I just miss the feeling i got from playing EQ, it's been so long but i
still think about it, no game has compared to it, and i played them
all, DAOC, Anarchy Online, WoW, UO, you name it. 
 
I quit about 2 months after Luclin came out, so I have no experience
with PoP, but I'm a faster learner, especially when I'm addicted 
 
still haven't gotten my key in the mail =\

just community wise, less people on the server = less dicks. btw since we are swapping websites im really just promoting my roomate www.whoisfitzpatrick.com he has a very unique kinda dark sounding trance style, most of his music he plays is his own. well I got my key, it's downloading hte update now. going pretty fast: 400kb/s but still 4 hours left 
 
now i'll think on what to make.  I have a fascination with gnomes
so I'll probably make one.  most likely a rogue, what I had before
