There is an open raid to wake the sleeper on New Years Day, 4pm EST. Many of you do not read eqmac, so I wanted to make sure you knew about it. <A href="http://www.eqmac.com/forums/viewtopic.php?t=5080">eqmac link</A> I know some of you are vehemently against it, and some are enthusuastically for it. Please also do not box me. Spent a lot of time thinking about this, and I don't think this is the right thing to do no matter how much I am dying to do it. Nik, if I have to change my password to get people to respect my wishes something is deeply wrong here. --

I take great offense to this Nik. I've gone ahead and logged Ra in and have him parked in PoTq because apparently I have to, but the idea of people 2 boxing toons where they know the account owner would probably not want their toon used for this just seems wrong.

Well I bristled a bit too, Sunra, but I don't think that Nik meant "change your password or we'll go against your wishes." I think he meant "people will be boxing chars to do this, so that's a good way of indicating that you don't want your char involved." I'd suggest that, instead, if you can't get the permission of the person involved, given how contentious this issue is, that you not box the char. --

I understand your point, but this is a very polarizing issue. One of the most polarizing I have seen in EQ. 2 boxing someone's avatar for this event without their expressed permission seems to be totally wrong. I would never presume to play someone else's avatar for this event even though I have 5 or 6 logins of guild people. Nik may indeed have just used poor wording, but his statement implies that people will be 2 boxing as there will not be enough of a turn out without it, and as a second point how many people will not have read that post and just be surprised they may have been used to wake the sleeper? Sorry. Kyth was right. I just worded that poorly. I had no intention of logging to wake the Sleeper. I don't want to see him awake yet. So my thoughts were a little selfish in thinking along the lines of: There's no way that they're going to get the people to wake him, unless they get two-boxers to do it.
