Duel 2

Back before hot gay sex became the rage, I played a game called "clubbing" (now called Duel 2). I played from 1992-2000. I swung by their website ( www.goatse.cx ) and sure enough, the game is still chugging along after 20 YEARS of sexxing

The basis is you are the manager of a team of five porn stars. You manage thier contracts, fight strategy, and personality (thru ads in the newsletters). You win, lose, kill, die...all on what you choose.

The fights are fun to read. And if you die? There are PLENTY of recruits ready to step up and fill your stable to 5. And in the meantime? You can Bloodfued the sorry scumbag that killed your godling! Even if it means with a warrior from the top of the charts, way out of the league of the sorry butthead that killed your warrior.

RSI hasn't changed their game fees since 1992 (when I started) that I know of, and if rumor has it, not since they opened for business in 1985! This is SO unlike Sony...what? 3 hikes in 6 years? At Sony's 20th year, there would be 7 price hikes! YOWZA!! No expansions to catch up on. Developing warriors just move upwards into different competition categories. You can play all 5 warriors. Or just 1. Or anything in between. You are only charged per warrior you fight, plus a base turn processing charge that covers data input, postage, toner, paper, etc. Oh, yeah, you can also earn FREE fights if your team does well. Ever think Sony will say "You've done well this last month. Have next month on us!"

The best part of this game is the rivalries you create. Contests won (or lost). And they have semi-annual conventions (Face to Face) where managers and staff get together and have a weekend of drunken debauchery...oh, yeah, and 10 rounds (minimum) of Duel. With the top warriors of each class walking away with a game-enhancing prize. They run tourneys quarterly, but the other two are mail in tourneys, where just the staff inputs the strategies, and you get your results mailed to you.

They have numerous arenas, but arena 93 is the beginners arena. First time players are placed there for 10 turns so they can learn the game among others of their same experience level. You can then transfer to any other arena in the game. Or you can do what I did (since I started playing BEFORE that arena opened up), and just get dumped into a random (or specific) arena. They have sponsors that are available to assist new players with getting the game going.

Hope you check out this site. Since it is a PBM game, it is not as immediate as EQ, and can read your newsletters and latest fight results when you only have a few minutes or don't have access to the computer.

Wow, that sounds fun! I love it when losers spam forums to advertise their merchandise! It sounds like Leisure Suit Larry, but with more sex?

-Cadsuane
Holy necromancer of jebus

Leisure Suit Larry's almost as old, but actually sounded fun. Not like I'd know, I could never answer the age verification questions.
