The old one that cads posted on EQ mac has a lot of memory leaks. I've been using the new one that he has for a while now, and haven't had as many problems (although it still does develop lag on occasion. Thank you! I hated being in the middle of battle and all of a sudden start running at 3 FPS, and have to turn the UI off and try to guess when my attacks were.<br /><br /><br />Every time you don't donate me your posessions, I kill a kitten.

Turn off sound. That sounds like the sound bug.<br /><br />The custom UI memory leak lag is a lot more gradual and a lot less severe.<br /><br /><br />--<BR>

I haven't had sound on since level 9.<br /><br />So its not that.<br /><br />And when I did get the sound lag bug, I would get more like normal for 10 seconds, then a 5 second pause, then 10 normal seconds.<br /><br />Not a solid 3 FPS.<br /><br /><br />Every time you don't donate me your posessions, I kill a kitten.

Oh -- and I'm apparently not the only person who despises the icons.<br /><br />Anyone have a good icon set and know how to replace them? Even the ones from the older version of infinity were better....<br /><br /><br />--<BR>

The spell and buff icons? You should be able to replace those in your UI with those from any other by replacing the "gemiconsXX.tga", "spellgems.tga" and "spellsXX.tga" files with those from the desired UI ("XX" is a number from 01 to 05, usually).<br /><br />Many people, and UI designers prefer the icons done by T. They are icons only a necro can love... dot dot snare dot dot... the colors and general appearance make it extremely difficult for buffing although I'm not used to them either. But I HATE them lol. Also they remind of starcraft or something not really inline with this type of game to me. I just switched back to old infinit UI cuz frankly I like it better. Any possiblity of tweaking that one to fix memory leaks?<br />

You like it because of the icons, or because of other stuff? (other than the icons I found the new infinty UI to be more useful and functional. although note that I've arranged it so useless things like my stats and resists fall off the bottom of the screen.)<br /><br /><br />--<BR>

The slowdown I was having seems to have been mostly fixed with this new version, it happened like twice last night, much better than the every-10-minutes-until-I've-been-on-for-3-hours thing I was having before. I don't like changing my icons because then I can't find anything in my spellbook (I'm too lazy to spend 5 minutes organizing it).<br /><br /><br />Every time you don't donate me your posessions, I kill a kitten.

i simply swappedout the older version TGA files witth the spell effects , icons, and buffs. and got rid of the warcraft 3 icons (thats what they are from, having that been my previous addiction to EQ).<br /><br />only thing i have an issue with now, is i tried to put a spell book that i downloaded in there by doing the same method, as the infinity spells book, well lets face it is ugly as crap.<br />instead i got a normal spell book layout , with no background. just icons, not cluttered next to eachother, but icons just kinda on my screen with no background what so ever. anyways is odd to me lol.<br /><br />but still a greaat UI<br /><br /><br />Spinjas says: Mobs Dont kill people, chanters with mobs kill people.

Two seconds of poking around found it.<br /><br />In the directory Everquest/Game/uifiles/(your UI name), there are two files, gemicons01.tga and gemicons02.tga, and 5 files, spells01.tg through spells05.tga, that you want to delete or replace.<br /><br />If you delete them from that URL that I gave with the infiniti stuff from Cads, then you'll get the default spell icons.<br /><br />Or there's this set from the older infiniti that I actually like -- more visual distinction once I got use to them: <a href="http://www.frivolity.com/eq/ui-spell-icons.zip">ui-spell-icons.zip</a>. To use, just download the link, open it, and put those files in your infinity directory in uifiles.<br /><br /><br />--<BR>
