You can manually hide away the edit messages if you goof and accidentally leave it on. Just put this html at the bottom of your post:<br /><br /><span style='display: none'><br /><br />It relies on your browser's support non-well-formed xml/html, but so does 99.9% of the rest of the web, so /shrug.<br /><br />That will probably toast your sig, so put it a the footer of the sig itself so you never have to remember.
