Chaining
#1
Okay, I've had the idea for this for ages, but I guess playing a cleric kind of made it seem more relevant. I don't know what it is about EQ that encourages me to write filks, but here it is.

Chaining
to the tune of Changes, by David Bowie

Still don't know if we could pull it off
And my mana was running low
A server first we tried and
Every time I thought we'd got it made
It seemed the raid was doomed to wipe
So I watched my UI timer
And sat between my casts
I prayed this time we'd keep the tank up
So we could kick that raid mob's ass

CH-CH-CH-CH-Chaining
(turn and face the wall)
CH-CH-Chaining
Don't bug me for a heal right now
CH-CH-CH-CH-Chaining
(turn and face the wall)
CH-CH-Chaining
Tell the necros ‘Twitch me now'
The main tank may die
If I can't count time.

I watch the health bars fall and rise
But never drop too low
Until we reach enrage
The AE's dropping folks like flies
But still we all are game
And the lag that we are facing
As we try to hold this raid
Has killed our frames per second
Don't use the mouse, just hotkeys now

CH-CH-CH-CH-Chaining
(turn and face the wall)
CH-CH-Chaining
Don't tell us this fight cannot be won
CH-CH-CH-CH-Chaining
(turn and face the wall)
CH-CH-Chaining
Where's your pride
You'll see we're gonna get it done
The main tank may die
If I can't count time.

CH Rotation, concentrating me
Ah chaining is taking all the mana I'm going through

CH-CH-CH-CH-Chaining
(turn and face the wall)
CH-CH-Chaining
Oh, look out boss of all these zones
CH-CH-CH-CH-Chaining
(turn and face the wall)
CH-CH-Chaining
Pretty soon now you're gonna get pwned
The main tank may die
If I can't count time
I said the main tank may die
If I can't count time

Socratus Wittgenstein - Dwarf Archon
The Dain song was funny.

With the song I wrote it helps to listen to the original as you read it. It's not a song that scans well just in writing unfortunately, but it was the one I had to use - the whole CH-CH-CH thing made it work for this.
