So you are wandering through the Akhevan ruins when suddenly you hear a Rygan Anisher say:

Tekar Ans Sivuelaeus!

And you want to know what it means? Then you have come to the right place. The Akhevan language is more complex than others have made it out to be in the past, but, if you read this guide, and re-read it, perhaps someday you too will be able to speak Akhevan with the children of Luclin.

Pluralization:

Pluralized words are completed by an “eus”.

Exception: Any words ending in an “s” or in a vowel, the plural form becomes “eum”.

Ans sivuela matarun. : The immortal outsider.
Ans mataruneus xi Xauinae. : The immortals of Luclin.
Ans invarnaus ial temar attaumis. : The traitor will know death.
Ans incarnauseum ial tavuel. : The traitors will suffer.

Possessives:

The possessive is formed by adding an “ar”.

Exception: words ending in “r” become possessive by adding an “a”.

Ans renthais asir n‘xudrau itraer. : The leader has a superior weapon.
Ans renthaisar xundrau ri itraer. : The leader’s weapon is superior.
Ans dator asir n‘lytaer. : The servant has a duty.
Tuis ri ans datora lytaer. : That is the servant’s duty.

Verbs: Number

Akhevan verbs distinguish between the one and the many. The singular form of a verb is completed with an “sis”.

Exception: A verb ending in “s” is indicated in the singular by adding “is”.

Ans xin dabo tekarsis ans sivuela. : The warrior destroys the outsider.
Ans xin daboeus tekar ans sivuelaeus : The warriors destroy the outsiders.
Kel datiar visis sa xaui ans rentha. : One minion agrees to guard the city.
Dat datiareus vis sa xaui ans rentha. : Two minions agree to guard the city.

Verbs: Person

Akhevan verbs also have a distinct form which is found only when used in the third person singular of the present tenst.

Xau iashatu : I worship
Ura Iashtu : You worship
Xys Iashtuek : He worships
Xau xenu : I wield
Ura xenu : You wield
Xys Xenuek : She wields

For some irregular verbs, the past tense is indicated by the addition of “un”.

Present Tense Active Voice / Passive Voice
Xys xeturisis / Xys ri xeturisun : He dishonors / He is dishonored

Past Tense Active Voice / Passive Voice
Xau xenturisun / Xau isu xeturisum : I dishonored / I was dishonored

Future Tense Active Voice / Passive Voice

Ura ial xeturis / Ura ial di xeturisum : You will dishonor / You will be dishonored

Present Perfect Tense Active Voice / Passive Voice

Future Perfect Active Voice / Passive Voice

Verb: Progressive

Progressive Verbs are indicated with an “im”.

Phet ka tarvuelim ans invarnauseum. : We are torturing the traitors.

Adjectives

Akehvan adjectives come in three forms – a positive, the comparative (“-iul”Wink and the superlative (“-iula”Wink. Additionally, the Common “-ful” suffix finds its equivalent in the Akhevan “-ais”.

Positive

Ivas : Wise
Xeturisais : Disgraceful

Comparitive

Ivasiul : Wiser
Vorn xeturisais : More disgraceful

Superlative

Ivasiula : Wisest
Vornu xeturisais : Most disgraceful

An adjectival Prepositional Phrase is indicated by two words connected by an: ’

Atulinae‘Vius : Priest of Night
Ans Fiel’Tian : The Light of Day

Adverbs:

Like adjectives, adverbs have the same three forms – positive, comparative (“-iul”Wink, and superlative (“-iula”Wink. The Common “-ly” finds its equivalent in Akhevan in “-vor” unless the word ends in “v” in which case it is just “-or”.

"Grendal ix Thula" is the deathphrase of certain tribals, and almost certainly isn't Akhevan, but is a phrase of Tribal Tegi.
