That tid-bit that you don't recognize Gum is actually part of the story line for EQ2.

Nope - I didn't read through the whole post on it...just what you quoted. But I have read the EQ2 lore and it is directly from that...Sleeper wakes up...kill severything...Gods get pissed and leave Norrath...destruction to the continent leaving only FP and Qeyons left...blah blah blah. In particular...the Gods leaving...(the Rathe included)...lifted the curse of the Rathe...yadda yadda ya...

First Cazic beats them with Da Oogly Stick and then Rallos comes along and stupids em up with Da Brick o Ogreing.

On a somewhat related topic, the new PCEQ expansion, Secrets of Faydwer, seems like it might cause some storyline issues between EverQuest and EQII. From what I've gathered, Kerafyrm is awake in his lair of Crystallos (just off the Dragonscale Hills, off of Steamfont Mountains), and plans to overtake Norrath and reshape it how he sees fit. Seeing as how EQII's storyline involves the awakening of Kerafyrm and his destruction of Norrath, and seeing how Secret's of Faydwer's storyline involves Kerafyrm's plan to do such, it seems like a) this might be one of the last PCEQ expansions or b) they may announce that EQII storyline takes place in a sort of alternate reality. Especially considering how the EQII storyline chunk about the gods leaving Norrath already occurred in the OoW/GoD story arc, and that they returned during the PoR arc.

I thought it was already established that EQII takes place in an alternate reality? I seem to recall something about Druzzil Ro showing up after Quarm is killed and saying "This is bad, this can't happen," wiping people's memories, and sending them back in time to before the kill, which created a rift in time and an alternate reality....But I could be pulling all of this out of my behind. I'll have to go try to look it up.

(I think erasing memories and sending ppl back in time is a cop out way to have it make sense that Quarm/mobs pop again though :-p) EQII is supposed to take place 100 or 1000 years after EQI. So technically, all of our characters (except us immoratal elves of course ) are all dead. And all the events from the expansions in EQI are long over. I think I'll read up on this today at work :-P But yeah Gum, I see your point in this being inconsistent. But with the speed SOE needlessly pumps out expansions, I'm not surprise they would screw up on lore.
