Recruiting Philosophy
Temerity is not the right guild for every player, and not every player is right for Temerity.
We want to foster growth and progress, but no more growth than we can sustain while holding onto our identity, and no more progress than we can fuel with a crew of people we're excited to share a tag with.
We are therefore looking not only for players who want to raid well, but for members who share our vision for the guild. You can read a bit about our philosophy in the About Temerity thread in this forum.
Requirements
Two sponsors: to apply to the guild, you need two current members willing to vouch for you. If you don't have sponsors and think you may want to apply, feel free to introduce yourself here on the forums and let our members know you're looking to group.
Level 50: Our raids have a minimum level requirement of 50. For those below the level requirement, you are encouraged to seek out members outside of raids, or at offnight events, to get to know us better.
Interest in raiding: We have no raid attendance requirements, but average attendance is around 40-60%, with some as high as 90%. If you are online during a scheduled raid, we expect you to be with us if you can enter the zone.
A main character: Alts are fine, and many of us have several, but main characters will always come before alts in Temerity. Applicants should expect to raid on their mains only until making full membership, at which point limited boxing is allowed under raiding policy.
Your main character and any alts must be currently unguilded.
Sense Heading and Swimming skills must both be maxed (200).
Players on our raids should be able to invis (cloudy potions cost 10 plat from vendors; Larrikan's Mask can be recharged for a few gold) and shrink themselves when necessary (10 Dose Ant's Potion at about 15 plat per dose).
We also recommend you have means to gate and levitate, and to spam a clicky self-buff in dispel fights.
Some of our members use /roleplay on their boxes to direct tells to their mains, but we discourage the use of /role for main characters. The /anonymous flag is never acceptable for Temerity-tagged characters. Applicants are advised to follow the same guidelines.
The Process
While Temerity does not require applicants to meet an attendance benchmark, a successful applicant will be active during the process: attending raids, seeking out members to group with, getting to know us while we get to know you.
The Application Form
First, register here on the forums. We strongly recommend that you use your character name.
Then fill out the following application and start a thread in this forum, including your name in the subject line. Your answers to the application will be your first impression on some members of the guild, so do take some care with it.
(NOTE: Forum registrations must be manually approved. If your account isn't activated within a day or two, get in touch with a Temerity member in game. We sometimes delete registrations from names we don't recognize as spam.)
1. Who are your sponsors? (You must have two, they must have agreed to do it, and they must be full members.)
2. How do you know each of your sponsors?
3. What is the name, level, race and class of your primary main character? Paste in the link to your TAKP magelo.
4. What is your handle on the TAKP forums?
5. List your shrink and EB items, as well as your means of casting gate, invis, and levitate if applicable. Do you have an insta-clicky?
6. What alts do you have (name/class/level)?
7. What time zone do you live in, and what is your typical play schedule?
8. How long have you played on TAKP?
9. Where and when have you played EQ prior to TAKP? If you played on Al'Kabor, tell us your character names, when you were active, and what guild(s) you were in.
10. Have you been in other guilds on TAKP? If so, why did you leave?
11. Describe your previous EQ raiding experience. What classes have you played on raids?

13. What do you expect out of EverQuest -- why do you play?

- Find two current members who will agree to act as your sponsors.
- Complete the application below and post it to the "post here" subforum.
- Attend at least two raids and interview with a recruiter. After this, we will tag you.
- After tagging, you spend no less than 4 weeks as an initiate. Once the guild and its officers are satisfied that you're a good fit for Temerity, you will be moved to full member status.
