One year ago today: http://www.temerityguild.org/forums/showthread.php?t=5929
I still remember that day so clearly. We'd been making Emp attempts for a couple of months, with several very long breaks because we just couldn't get enough force logged in.
It was a mere four months after a then-officer of Temerity had posted to the guild that they didn't think the guild would be viable in 2005, and we should disband it. The members and remaining officers who were playing EQ disagreed, and within three weeks of that post we were back to killing Tier 7 mobs.
It's one of the few events in EQ that have struck me so strongly with the sheer sense of accomplishment and satisfaction (and maybe a tear or two of happiness.) A true watershed moment for any guild, and one where we barely had enough force online to do it. A fight we'd worked on so hard, for so long (when I joined Temerity in January 2004, we were talking about Vex Thal and handing out the orbs of luclinite to the "high levels" (at that time, people above 55) in anticipation of the day.)
Temerity has gone through a lot of ups and downs, but the guild members have always shown tremendous spirit, heart, and passion that has kept the guild together and progressing. If we were in this for the loot we'd have left long, long ago.
Hey -- Temerity -- Quarm is looking at you funny....
